The Webster University women's tennis team evened its record in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with an 8-1 win over Blackburn College, in Carlinville, IL, on April 6. The Gorloks swept the doubles and took five of six singles for the victory.
Marissa Lewis (JR, Owasso, OK/Owasso HS) and Kaylen Kress (SO, Bartlett, IL/Bartlett HS) won an 8-2 decision at the #1 doubles, while Kathleen Kennedy (JR, Tinley Park, IL/Providence Catholic HS) and Isabella Espinoza (JR, Temecula, CA/Temecula Valley HS) scored an 8-3 win. Freshman Chelsea Foster (St. Louis, MO/McCluer North HS) and Erin Roop (SO, LaCrosse, WI/Aquinas HS) took the #3 singles, 8-4.
The top five singles all won in straight set for Webster, with the only loss coming at #6. The Webster results were:
