The Webster University women's tennis team defeated Lindenwood University Belleville, 6-3, on March 4, at Kings Point indoor facility in Belleville, IL.  The weather was too cold to play outside but the Gorloks heated things up inside, winning 5-1 in singles matches to wrap up the match.

Marissa Lewis (SR, Owasso, OK/Owasso HS) won in straight sets at #1 singles to improve to 6-1 on the year and Monica Behrle (FR, Atlanta, GA/East Paulding HS) improved to 7-1 with a straight set win at #2.  Lewis and Behrle both bounced back after suffering their first defeats of the year, three days earlier to NCAA II Maryville University. 

Kaylen Kress (JR, Bartlett, IL/Bartlett HS), and Stephanie Lass (FR, Lake Villa, IL/Lakes Community HS) won in straight sets also, and Erin Roop (JR, LaCrosse, WI/Aquinas HS) handily won her tie-breaker set, 10-2, to win at #6 singles.  Chelsea Foster (SO, Florissant, MO/McCluer North HS) and Jesse Steffens-Willis (FR, St. Louis, MO/Rockwood Summit HS) won the lone doubles match for Webster, winning 8-4 at #3.

The Gorloks will head to Hilton Head, South Carolina, for spring break.  From March 8-13, Webster will play five different matches against NCAA III opponents.  The team opens play in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a match at Blackburn College (IL) on March 21.
