The Webster University women's tennis team started play in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 9-0 win at Fontbonne University on March 15, in Clayton, MO.  After several hard fought battles over its spring break, Webster had a much easier time in winning its fifth straight match.

The match started with singles play, as the teams hoped to beat the predicted rains, and the Gorloks cooperated by winning all six in straight sets and losing only five games total in the process.  Webster then swept the doubles to complete the win.

Monica Behrle (SO, Atlanta, GA/East Paulding HS), at #1, Stephanie Lass (SO, Lake Villa, IL/Lakes Community HS), at #6, and Kaylen Kress (SR, Bartlett, IL/Bartlett HS), at #2, all extended winning streaks in the match.  Lass has a seven-match streak, Behrle a six-match streak, and Kress is now at five in singles play.  Behrle and Madison Watts (FR, Rogersville, MO/Logan-Rogersville HS) have a six-win streak as a doubles team with their win at #2.

Webster is now 7-5 on the year with the non-conference tilt.

The Gorloks have 10 days off before hosting Rhodes College (TN) on March 25 at the Webster Groves Tennis Center.
