The Webster University women's tennis team had a big come from behind win over Carroll University (WI), 5-4, on March 8, at Hilton Head, SC.  Stephanie Lass' tie-breaker win at the #6 singles was the match clincher for the Gorloks.

The Pioneers had taken a 2-1 lead in doubles, but the Gorloks stormed back to win the singles, 4-2, and the match.  Monica Behrle (SO, Atlanta, GA/East Paulding HS) at #1, Kaylen Kress (SR, Bartlett, IL/Bartlett HS) at #2, and Sara Rice (FR, Mahomet, IL/Mahomet-Seymour HS) at #4 had all won at singles to tie the match at 4-4.

Utilizing just three courts, the match had already reached five hours when Lass (SO, Lake Villa, IL/Lakes Community HS) was battling it out with her Carroll counterpart.  After winning the first set, 6-3, Lass dropped the second 2-6 and went to the tie-breaker where she prevailed, 10-5.

Behrle and Madison Watts (FR, Rogersville, MO/Logan-Rogersville HS) had Webster's lone victory at doubles, winning at #2, 8-4

Carroll had come into the match with a 13-4 record, going 12-4 in the fall and were 1-0 in the spring until its loss to Webster.  The Gorloks improve to 4-5 and will try to even their record on the year vs. Lebanon Valley College (PA) on March 9 at Hilton Head.  The Dutchmen are 3-2 on the year.
