The Webster University women's tennis team dodged the rain and defeated Westminster College, 5-1, on April 20 in Fulton, MO.  The Gorloks won four of the singles and clinched the match after winning one of the doubles pairings.  The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest was halted with Webster having the needed five wins because of inclement weather.

Monica Behrle (SO, Atlanta, GA/East Paulding HS) at #1, Kaylen Kress (SR, Bartlett, IL/Bartlett HS) at #2, Sara Rice (FR, Mahomet, IL/Mahomet-Seymour HS) at #4, and Jesse Steffens-Willis (SO, St. Louis, MO/Rockwood Summit HS) at #5 all won in straight sets in singles.  For Rice, it was her fourth straight win at singles as she improved to 13-7.

The doubles matches were started as singles players became available and when the Blue Jays #2 duo defaulted, the Gorloks had their fifth win.  Webster was in good hands as Behrle and Kress were up 5-1 at #1 doubles when the match was called.

Webster is 4-0 in the SLIAC and 13-9 overall.  The Gorloks have won four of their last five matches.  Westminster is now 3-2 in the SLIAC and 4-6 overall.

The Gorloks conclude regular season play with a match at Greenville College (IL) on April 23.  The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament will take place on April 29-30 at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park in St. Louis,
