BELLEVILLE, Ill. - Webster University had 32 of its fall sport student-athletes named to the 2019 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Fall All-Academic Team that was released by the league office on Tuesday. The 32 student-athletes was second-most among the league's 10 member institutions as Greenville had a league-best 36 total selections.
 
The Gorlok women's soccer and volleyball teams each had nine student-athletes recognized, while the men's soccer team had six selected, the women's cross country team had four student-athletes selected and the men's cross country had three overall student-athletes selected.
 
Along with Greenville's 36 and Webster's 32 selections, MacMurray was third with 26 selections, while Fontbonne and Principia were tied for fourth with 24 overall selections. Spalding was next with 19 and the Golden Eagles were followed by Westminster with 19, Iowa Wesleyan had 16 selections, while Eureka and Blackburn had three and two overall selections. In addition, Illinois College (2), Monmouth (2) and Lake Forest (1), who are members of the league for both men's and women's golf, had a total of five women's golfers selected.
  
The SLIAC Fall All-Academic team had a total of 200 student-athletes total from around the conference honored. In order to earn All-Academic Team honors a student-athlete must hold a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore in academic standing and have been enrolled in at least one full year at their current institution.
 
10 of the 28 fall SLIAC All-Academic Gorloks were recognized for a second consecutive season and six of the honorees are three-time SLIAC Fall All-Academic selections – senior women's soccer player Lilly Brauer (Belleville, Ill./Belleville East), senior volleyball player Sarah Jacobs (Carbondale, Ill./Murphysboro), senior women's soccer player Melissa Kasper (Oswego, Ill./Oswego), senior women's soccer player Olivia Osterhage (St. Louis, Mo./Eureka), senior men's soccer player Justin Schmidt (St. Louis, Mo./Metro) and senior women's cross country runner Meredith Sowers (Rolla, Mo./Rolla.
