BELLEVILLE, Ill. - Saturday's men's basketball contest in Webster Groves, Mo., between Webster University and MacMurray College has been tabbed as this week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Game of the Week. Tip-off for Saturday's SLIAC game is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Grant Gymnasium on the Webster University campus.
The game will feature a match-up between two teams that locked in a seven-way tie for third place in the league standings after the first week of league play. Both teams enter the game with identical 1-1 records in league play as both teams split their first two league games this season. Webster opened league play with a 66-54 home win last Thursday over Spalding and suffered a 98-97 loss on Saturday at Greenville, while MacMurray opened league play with a 94-76 loss at home against Fontbonne and then picked up a 73-52 home win on Saturday over Spalding.
Webster comes into the game sporting a 2-7 overall record as the Gorloks have lost four of its last five games with the only win being that home victory last Thursday against Spalding. Meanwhile, MacMurray comes into the game with a 3-3 overall record as the Highlanders have lost three of its last four games after opening the 2019-20 campaign with wins over Central Christian and Lincoln Christian.
Saturday's match-up will be the first of two match-ups this season between the two schools as Webster will travel to Jacksonville, Ill., on Saturday, Feb. 1.

MacMurray starts the week with a 3-3 overall record and will face Augustana College on Thursday before returning to SLIAC play on Saturday against Webster. The Highlanders are coming off a 73-52 victory over Spalding last Saturday in which Trevor Voss led the way with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
As a team, MacMurray is averaging 78.8 points per game this season and have hit 7.2 three's per game.
Voss is their leading scorer at 15.3 points per game and is tied for the team lead with 10 three-point field goals. Logan Dorethy is one of the top inside men in the league and is averaging 14.4 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while shooting 53-percent from the field and Elijah Powell is averaging 12.5 points per game and leads the team with eight steals. |

Webster is coming off a 98-97 loss to Greenville and will have a week off before they return to the court for their game against MacMurray.
As a team, the Gorloks are averaging 68.1 points per game this season and connect on just 4.9 three's per game. The majority of those three's come from senior guard Josh Johnson (St. Louis, Mo./Clayton), who has hit on 24 three-point field goals. He is averaging a team-leading 19.1 points per game this season.
In addition to Johnson, the Gorloks other double-digit scorers are junior forward Rodson Etienne (West Palm Beach, Fla./Royal Palm Beach) and senior forward Enrique Tankins (Wentzville, Mo./Timberland). Etienne is averaging 13.8 points per game while shooting 60-percent from the filed and Tankins is putting up 12.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. |

Series History
The all-time series between the two schools is tied at 30-30, but the Gorloks have won five straight games in the series, including picking up a 73-72 win in the team's last meeting last season in Jacksonville, Ill. The Gorloks have swept the season series from the Highlanders the past two seasons.
