SAH, Ill. – The Webster University men's and women's track and field teams were back in action over the last two days when they traveled across the river to Elsah, Illinois, to compete in the Principia Relays hosted by Principia (Ill.) College. There were no team scores for this meet.
The women's side was led by
Vanessa Jones,
Danielle Schultz, and
Micah Barnes who each had top five finishes in three different events.
Vanessa Jones took third place in the 60-meter hurdles after finishing the race in 9.78 seconds. She also did well in the 200-meter dash as she finished 13
th with a time of 28.51 seconds.
Danielle Schultz took fourth place in the mile run after she finished with a time of 5:32.16 and
Micah Barnes finished fourth in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:25.80. The rest of the women's results are as follows:
The men's side was led by
Elijah Perez who took sixth place in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.08 seconds and eighth place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.30.
Kaelin Triggs also had a great performance as he finished in third place in the mile with a time of 4:34.50 and was also on the distance medley relay team that finished fifth overall with a time of 11:05.51.
Joshua Clark,
Sam Baker and
Cameron Sakuma were also members of the distance medley relay team.
Armond Williams rounds out the top performers for Webster as he finished fifth in the high jump after clearing the bar at a height of 1.85 meters. The rest of the men's results are as follows:
The Gorloks will return to the track on Saturday, February 5
th when they travel to Jacksonville, Illinois, to compete in the Jim Green Invitational hosted by Illinois College. The meet is set to start at 10:00 a.m.
