LEXINGTON, Ky. - The United States Marine Corps and the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Webster University as one of 1,332 collegiate and high school volleyball programs that have earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award this season. The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.
This marks the 15
th straight year, and 17
th time overall, that the Gorloks volleyball program has earned the honor. The team had a yearlong grade point average of 3.6.
"I continue to be impressed with the student athletes in our volleyball program," said Head Volleyball Coach
Merry Graf. "They embrace the ideals of NCAA Division III by earning strong GPA's while competing in the sport they love. I feel fortunate to work with these amazing young women."
