Three Gorloks Earn All-Conference Honors

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has released the names of the student-athletes that were selected to the 2024 SLIAC Volleyball All-Conference teams. The Gorloks had three student-athletes earn All-Conference honors which includes a Second Team selection from Eva Tarlos while Jaycee Lewis and Grace White earned Third Team honors. 

A first-year middle hitter in Tarlos, earned a Second Team All-Conference selection and was named the SLIAC Freshman of the Year as she led the Gorloks offensive attack with 149 kills in conference play where she averaged 2.44 kills per set while recording a hitting percentage of .302. In addition, the Overland Park, Kansas native contributed 39 blocks and 19 service aces for 203 points. 

This season, Tarlos ranked inside the top-10 in the conference in two statistical categories that included a sixth overall spot with a .302 hitting percentage. In the blocks category, she ranked eighth in the league with 43 blocks where she averaged 0.64 blocks per set. 

The anchor of the back row and libero in Lewis, secured a Third Team All-Conference selection where she led the Gorloks with 293 digs in conference play and ended the season ranked third in the league with an average of 4.58 digs per set. In addition, she recorded a .958 reception percentage while playing in 64 sets. On the offensive side of the net, Lewis recorded 49 assists and 16 service aces.

The final All-Conference selection was sophomore middle hitter in White as she secured a Third Team honor by finishing first on the team with 46 blocks (23 solo and 23 assisted). With those 46 blocks, she ended the season ranked seventh in the conference with an average of 0.69 blocks per set. 

On the offensive side of the net, White finished the season second on the team in five statistical categories. In the points category, she recorded 180.5 total points in conference play where she averaged 2.69 points per set. In addition, White recorded 145 kills for an average of 2.16 kills per set while posting a hitting percentage of .251.  

In addition to the All-Conference teams, the SLIAC Conference office awards one member of each school that is a conference sport to the All-Sportsmanship Team. To be selected for this award, an individual must display the ideals of sportsmanship that includes fairness, civility, honesty, unselfishness, respect, and responsibility all season long. This season, Cassie Gray was selected as the representative from Webster University
