Gorloks Earn Second Highest NCAA Midwest Regional Championship Placement In School History

WAVERLY, Iowa. - The Webster University men's cross country team closed out the 2025 season by competing in the 2025 NCAA Midwest Regional Championship at Max Cross Country Course. The Gorloks was the highest placing SLIAC team at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship and beat both Greenville University and Principia College that beat them at the SLIAC Championships. As a team, the Gorloks earned their second highest team placement in school history at this meet with a score of 656 that earned 20th overall.

Ethan Nieroda recorded a new 8k season-best with a time of 26:48.8 and was the first Gorlok that crossed the finish line. Nieroda achieved his highest career placement at the Regional Championship by finishing 80th overall.

First-year Simon Muthemba had a great race as he recorded his second fastest career 8k with a time of 27:14.4. Fellow first-year Brayden Halter achieved a new 8k personal-record with a time of 27:40.7.

Junior runner Johnny Imboden was the fourth Gorlok that crossed the finish line as he recorded a time of 29:33.7.

First-year runner Gabe Feaman achieved his second fastest career 8k with a time of 31:26.9. Fellow classmate Tyler Mooney recorded his second fastest career 8k with a time of 32:45.2.

Junior runner Jacob Hawkins rounded out the field for Webster with a time of 33:19.3

"I'm very proud of how the guys performed today. We lost a close battle at the SLIAC Championships to Greenville and Principia and had the team goal to beat them at Regionals to close out the season. The team rose to the occasion and made it happen. We have a very young team and will only get better from here. I believe the future of our program is very bright" said Head Coach Kyle Robinson.
