Muthemba and Nieroda Earn Top-6 Finishes; Gorloks Secure Third Place At SLIAC Championships

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Webster University men's cross country team hosted the 2025 SLIAC Cross Country Championships at Buder Park North. WU's Simon Muthemba and Ethan Nieroda led the team with top-10 finishes. As a team, the Gorloks earned a third place finish with a score of 59 that included four top-16 finishes.

Muthemba, a first-year student-athlete from nearby Maryland Heights, Missouri paced the Gorloks with a time of 27:07.85 that earned third overall. With this finish, it marks his first top-3 finish of the season.

Nieroda, an O'Fallon, Illinois native, who also finished in the 27th minute, recorded a time of 27:21.26 that secured sixth overall.

In addition to Muthemba and Nieroda, first-year Brayden Halter also crossed the line in the 27th minute with a time of 27:45.73 that earned 11th overall.

Junior runner Johnny Imboden was the next Gorlok that crossed the finish line as he recorded a time of 29:30.19 that earned 16th overall.

First-year Gabe Feaman and Tyler Mooney were the next Gorloks that crossed the finish line with times of 30:38.82 and 31:19.91 respectively.

Junior runner Jacob Hawkins recorded a time of 32:14.81 while Dalton Bartlett rounded out the field for Webster with a time of 33:59.59.

The Gorloks will close out the season on Saturday, November 15 competing in the 2025 NCAA Midwest Regional Championships at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.
