WU’s Llewellyn Crowned Javelin Champion; Seven Gorloks Set New Personal Records At Greenville Select Meet

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The Webster University women's track and field team competed in their third outdoor meet of the season by participating in the Greenville Select Meet on Saturday. WU's Isabelle Llewellyn placed first in javelin while seven Gorloks achieved a new personal record in at least one event at this meet.

In the javelin event, Llewellyn was crowned the champion in the event with a mark of 33.46m (109-10) as she hit that same mark twice; on her first and final attempts. Cali Pavlisko recorded a mark of 23.05m (75-8) that finished just outside the top-10 at 11th overall. Symphony Schodroski placed right behind Pavlisko with a mark of 23.03m (75-7) which was on her third attempt. First-year Grace Rose set a new personal record with a mark of 18.99m (62-4) which was on her second attempt. 

In the hammer throw, Llewellyn placed fourth overall with a mark of 41.34m (135-8) which was on her third attempt. WU's Pavlisko set a new personal record with a mark of 36.88m (121-0) that placed ninth overall. Schodroski achieved a new personal record with a mark of 32.26m (105-10) while Rose secured a new personal record with a mark of 28.23m (92-8).

In the discus event, Llewellyn earned a seventh place finish with a mark of 35.85m (117-8) which was on her final attempt. Schodroski secured a new personal record with a mark of 28.92m (94-11) which was on her first attempt. Pavlisko and Rose rounded out the field for Webster with marks of 24.60m (80-9) and 23.12m (75-10) respectively. 

In the high jump event, Elicia Theroff was the lone competitor for Webster in the event and placed eighth overall with a clearance of 1.48m (4-10.25).

In the 100m hurdles event, graduate-student Olivia Nelsen achieved a new season-best time of 18.25 seconds. In the 100m dash, Kianna Patton placed 13th overall with a time of 12.90 seconds. Theroff rounded out the field for Webster with a time of 13.57 seconds.

In the 200m dash, Patton recorded a time of 27.23 seconds while Josephine Caesar accomplished a new personal record with a time of 28.63 seconds.

In the 400m hurdles, Nelsen secured a new season-best with a time of 1:14.75 that placed eighth overall.

In the 1500m run, Emily Horowitz was the lone Webster competitor and secured a new personal record with a time of 6:59.07.

In the 5000m run, Brie Inman achieved a new personal record with a time of 23:28.62 that placed ninth overall.

The Gorloks will continue the outdoor season on Thursday, April 17 competing in the Gibson Invitational hosted by Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana.
