Women’s Tennis Dominate Panthers In Home Finale

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Webster University women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a home match against Principia College on Friday evening. The Gorloks dominated the Panthers by the final score of 6-1 for the eighth victory of the season.

Webster and Principia opened the match with doubles competition as the Gorloks won all three matches by the margin of 18-2.In the number one doubles match, the team of Journee White and Kylie Chitwood got off to an early lead that led to a 6-2 victory.

In the second doubles match, the team of Maddie Mena and Lucy Paro blanked their opponents for the 6-0 victory.

In the third singles match, the duo of Bailee Pineda and Evie Schuetz shutout their opponents by the score of 6-0.

In singles play, the Gorloks earned five singles victories that led to the win. In the number one singles match, White lined up against Saray H Cisneros and defeated her in straight sets by the identical scores of 6-3.

In the second singles match, Paro faced off against Kimberly Peterson and opened the match with a 6-4 victory. However, Paro dropped the second set that forced a third set. In the third set, both student-athletes battled back-and-forth as Paro fell just short by the score of 7-10.

In the third singles match, Chitwood was tasked against Testimony Beaton and defeated her in straight sets by the scores of 6-1 and 6-0.

In the fourth singles match, Mena lined up against Gislove Glokpor and dominated Glokpor in straight sets by the identical scores of 6-1.

In the fifth singles match, Pineda shutout her opponent Mayah Campagna in straight sets by the scores of 6-0.

In the sixth singles match, Schuetz faced off against Kezo S Keza and defeated her in straight sets by the scores of 6-1 and 6-0.
