Hill Secures Medal At Panther Prowl XC Classic Meet

OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Webster University women's cross country team competed in their second 5k race of the season at the Panther Prowl XC Classic Friday evening at Yellow Creek Park. The Gorloks had five student-athletes compete at this race that included two Webster debuts.

First-year Violet Hill secured her second top-15 finish of her career and recorded a new personal record with a time of 21:13.5 that finished 15th overall. With this finish, she earned a medal and ran nearly 51 seconds faster than her collegiate debut last Friday.

The next Gorlok that crossed the finish line was sophomore Brie Inman with a time of 24:41.5. A first-year student-athlete that made her collegiate debut was Keylit Gomez as she recorded a time of 28:32.7

Transfer junior Lydia Imboden made her Webster debut with a time of 30:57.9 while first-year Averie Holifield made her collegiate debut with a time of 32:12.9.

"I am very happy with how the ladies competed today. Violet finished with a significant season best in the 5k and showed major improvement from race one to race two. Brie, Keylit, Lydia, and Averie competed well for their first 5k of the season. I'm excited to get back to work soon" said Head Coach Kyle Robinson.

The Gorloks will have a two week delay between meets and will continue their season on Friday, September 19 by competing in the Bradley Intercollegiate hosted by Bradley University at Detweiler Park in Peoria, Illinois.
