Ogata Sets New High Jump School Record; Seven Gorloks Record Final Results Of Outdoor Season At Augustana Qualifier

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Seven members of the Webster University Men's Track & Field team recorded their final results of the season by competing in the two-day Midwest Twilight Qualifier hosted by Augustana College. In the High Jump, Thomas Ogata set the new all-time Men's Outdoor High Jump school record and a new personal record with a clearance of 2.01m and finished tied for second overall. With this height, he broke his own previous school record from this season of 1.97m by 0.04m.

Sophomore jumper, Nkunim Kouame also competed in the High Jump and set a new personal record with a clearance of 1.96m which earned seventh overall.

In the 100m dash, Austin Merritt won the prelim race with a time of 10.48 seconds which qualified for the finals. With that time, Merritt ranks #22 in the nation for the event. In the finals, Merritt placed third with a time of 10.55 seconds.

Dylan Patterson placed second in the prelims with a time of 10.55 seconds which qualified for the finals. With that time, Patterson ranks 38th in the nation for the event. In the finals, Patterson crossed the finish line with a time of 10.55 seconds that tied for third overall.

In the 200m dash, Merritt earned a sixth place finish with a time of 21.59 seconds which was a new season-best for him. With that time, he ranks 79th in the nation.

In the 400m dash, Nic Richardson crossed the finish line with a time of 51.26 seconds.

In the Pole Vault, Mark Govero recorded a clearing height of 4.71m that earned fifth overall while Elijah Bohler recorded a clearing height of 3.97m that placed 16th overall.
