Gorloks to host Help the Homeless Classic

(St. Louis, Mo.) – The Webster University’s men’s basketball will host the Help the Homeless Classic this Friday evening and Saturday afternoon as part of its season opening weekend tournament.

All fans are encouraged to bring canned goods and/or monetary donations to the games. Donations will be accepted both days and will be donated to the homeless shelters at Sts. Peter and Paul Community Services. “From its beginning the Soulard community has actively served the needs of those who are less fortunate. Over the years, several programs have been created as a direct response to the very real needs of the homeless population in St. Louis. Today Peter & Paul Community Services continues to alleviate a variety of social problems: unemployment, broken homes, neglect, addiction, illness and the need for shelter, food, and clothing.”

The classic tips off at 6 p.m., on Friday November 16 between Hanover College and Denison University with the Gorloks to follow against Translyvania University at 8 p.m. The tournament will conclude on Saturday afternoon with Denison and Translyvania playing at 1 p.m., and WU and Hanover at 3 p.m.
