Greeting the Gorloks today was another disappointing loss added to the difficult 1st half of the season for the Webster men's basketball team.  Despite once again coming from 14 points down early in the 2nd half the Gorloks were unable to retain a small lead and were defeated 74-69 to finish the 1st half with a record of 2-6.

At the 15:23 mark of the 2nd half Webster found themselves down 14 points when Cass Behrens of Coe College made a layup.  As in past events the Gorloks dug deep and retook the lead 63-62 at the 3:18 mark on a jumper by John Ortwerth.  The lead was further extended to 3 points by Webster on a layup by senior Ryan Turk who scored 11 points in the game.  Unfortunately 3 points was not enough and when Coe's Dan Borngraeber hit a jumper for 2 the Gorloks would not see the lead again.

Leading the way in scoring today for the Gorloks was junior John Ortwerth who tallied 16 points and was followed up closely by sophomore Nick Jones with 14.

The Gorloks return to action on January 3, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. vs Blackburn College.
