(St. Louis, Mo.) The Webster Gorloks men's tennis squad split a conference doubleheader losing to Westminster 8-1 and then defeated Eureka 8-1 on Saturday at the Webster Groves Recreation Complex.

   Rolf Rothermel picked up the only win for Webster (2-4, 1-2 SLIAC) in the opening match against Westminster (4-5, 1-1 SLIAC) defeating Myles Yokeley in straight sets 6-2 and 6-1 in the number one singles match. The Gorloks had a chance to pick up another victory in the #6 singles match after Eric Seiler won the first set 6-4 but then dropped the next two 2-6 and 3-6.

    WU dropped all three doubles matches with Zach Mangelsdorf and Tomoyo Homma coming the closest to stealing one losing 8-5.


    In the nightcap it was all Gorloks as they had no problems with the Red Devils (1-1, 1-1 SLIAC) winning five of the six singles matches including the last four in a row and all three doubles matches.

    Both squads return to action with a SLIAC match at Fontbonne on Tuesday evening beginning at 5:30 p.m.
