The Webster men's tennis team was pretty dominant in posting the 7-2 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over Maryville Wednesday.
The Gorloks went 5-1 in singles competition and 2-1 in doubles. The duo of
Billy White and
Dino Fajic opened the scoring with an 8-2 victory in first doubles, followed by a 8-4 win in second doubles by
Zach Papes and
Tomoya Homma. The Webster duo of Satrio Norojona and
Ryan Fassler fell in third doubles, 8-3.
In first singles, White was victorious, 7-5, 6-2; Fajic won in third singles, 6-2, 6-1; Homma won in fourth singles, 7-5, 6-3; Fassler posted the 6-2, 6-2 win in fifth singles; and Norojono was victorious, 7-6, 6-1, in sixth singles. Papes fell, 6-1, 6-1, in the second singles flight.
Webster (3-2) will travel to Elsah, IL Saturday to face Greenville and Principia in SLIAC tennis action.
