The Webster University men's basketball team rode red-hot shooting beyond the 3-point line, to defeat Spalding University, 72-51, in Louisville, KY, on January 2. The team hit 60 percent from long range, a team high for the season, on nine of 15 shooting.
Drew Moore (JR, Webster Groves HS, STL) led the way, hitting five of six from beyond the 3-point arc, and scoring 19 points for the game. Nick Jones (JR, Heritage HS, IL) joined in the sharp-shooting, hitting three of four 3-pointers and scoring 12 points overall. Scott Restoff (JR, Mater Dei HS, IL) chipped in with 11 points and Kevin Miller (FR, Belleville East HS, IL) led the Gorloks with eight rebounds.
The Gorloks pulled to a 32-24 halftime lead, and extended the lead throughout the second half. Webster is now 2-1 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and 5-6 overall on the season. The team will travel to Washington University on January 4 and then return home to take on Eureka College on January 6.
