Women's Tennis Eliminated From NCAA Tourney

The Webster University women's tennis was defeated in its first round match in the NCAA III Tournament by Grove City College (PA), 5-1, on May 13 at the University of Chicago.

The Gorloks, coming off a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship, found the Wolverines, champions of the Presidents Athletic Conference, too tough to handle.  Lindsey Hays (FR, Francis Howell HS, STL) and Alex Meyer (JR, Effingham HS, IL) were the sole victors for the Gorloks, winning 8-5 in their doubles contest.

Webster was without Mindy Tabakin, standout sophomore from First Colonial HS in VA for the match.  The Gorloks finished 11-5 for the year, the second best record in team history.  The results from the Grove City match are as follows:
