Gorloks Pounce on Panthers, 64-45

The Webster University women’s basketball team defeated Principia College (IL), 64-45, at Grant Gymnasium on January 6. The Gorloks picked up a win in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, rebounding from a tough road loss two nights earlier. Megan Willett (JR, Parkway West HS) led Webster with a career high 22 points.

Up by two at the half, the Gorloks broke open the game in the second, outscoring the Panthers, 40-23. Willett paced Webster, scoring 18 of her points in the second. Willett also had a career high 11 rebounds to lead the Gorloks, completing a double-double.

Katy Meyer (SR, Parkway Central HS) had a workman-like game, scoring nine and pulled down 10 rebounds, just missing a double-double of her own. Tori Fenemor (SO, St. Charles HS) came off the bench to score eight points, grab six rebounds, pick off three steals, and block two shots.

Webster is 3-1 in the SLIAC, and 8-5 overall on the season. The Gorloks face Fontbonne University on January 8, at Grant Gymnasium, and then take a week off before travelling to Spalding University (KY) on January 15.
