Playing three matches each in less than 24 hours, the Webster University men’s and women’s tennis team's schedules jumped into full throttle on March 18-19 at the Webster Groves Tennis Center. The Gorlok men downed Lindenwood University-Belleville (IL), 9-0, and Missouri Baptist University, 5-4. The Webster women defeated Lindenwood, 8-1, and Stephens College, 8-1.
The victory over Missouri Baptist was the first ever for the men. The victories for both teams came in the first ever meetings with the Lindenwood University-Belleville program. On March 18, the University of Missouri-St Louis defeated the men and women, 9-0. The matches, originally scheduled for UMSL, were moved to the WGTC because of wet courts.
Paige Tungate (JR, Flora HS, IL) and Diego Alarcon (SO, American School, Ecuador) were two of the stars on the day, both going 4-0 in the days matches in singles and doubles.
The men and women are both back in action vs. Nebraska Wesleyan University on March 25 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
