The Webster University men's tennis team travelled to Principia College (IL) on April 18, and shut out the Panthers, 9-0. The men, who had a tough time with a number of the Panthers at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Individual Tournament this past weekend, swept through Principia in team play.
The win improves the Gorloks record to 11-5 on the season. With two regular season matches and the SLIAC Tournament still ahead of them, the Gorloks have a shot at matching or breaking the school record of 12 wins in a season, set in 2010. Webster is 4-1 in the SLIAC and finished the conference schedule in second place, with its only loss to first place Westminster College.
The Gorloks host Carthage College (WI) on April 22 at the Webster Groves Tennis Center and host Maryville University at the WGTC on April 23. The SLIAC Championships are on April 30.
