The women’s soccer team continued its stingy ways on defense, shutting out a third opponent in a row, as Webster defeated North Central College, 1-0, in Chicago, IL, on September 23. A save by Brittany Senator (SR, Quincy HS, IL) on a penalty kick preserved the shutout and helped secure the win for the Gorloks.
Senator made the save in the first half, and the teams were scoreless entering the locker room. Senator had her first career complete game shutout for the Gorloks. The shutout was the fifth of the season, in nine games, for Webster. The team’s goals against average dropped to 0.64 on the year.
Webster’s lone goal came in the second half when Ally Nikolaus (SO, St. Joseph’s Academy) scored on a penalty kick for the Gorloks with 14 minutes remaining in the contest.
The Gorloks have a day off before taking on Dominican University on September 25. Webster returns home on October 2 to begin play in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference when they face Eureka College (IL) at the Soccer Park.
