Box Score The Webster University men's basketball team fell to .500 (4-4) on the season as it lost at Elmhurst College (IL), 87-70, on December 8. The Gorloks shot well for the contest, but the Blue Jays shot it well also, and more often, to come away with the victory.
Despite senior Cody Bradfisch (Jerseyville HS, IL) putting on a show in the first half, the Gorloks trailed by 11 at the break, 47-36. Bradfisch had 13 points on 4-6 shooting, including 3-4 from the three-point line, and had three rebounds. Webster shot a torrid 62% (12-19) from the field as a team for the half, but also had 14 turnovers and commited 14 fouls. In the second half, Elmhurst maintained a 15 plus point advantage to secure the win.
For the game, Webster shot a respectable 56% (27-48) from the field, but the Blue Jays managed to get off nine more shots than the Gorloks as they shot 53% (30-57). Elmhurst also won the battle of the three-pointers, hitting 10 to Webster's six, and beat the Gorloks on the offensive boards, 14-6.
Bradfisch finished with 19 points for the game. Roman Robinson (SR, Deangelo Rodriguez HS, CA) finished with 17 points on 6-12 shooting, and was 5-5 from the free throw line. Aaron Griffin (SO, Velma Jackson HS, MS) had a team-high seven rebounds for Webster and added eight points.
Webster has a week off before travelling to Holly Springs, MS, to face Rust College on December 15. That will be the final contest in 2012 for the Gorloks as the next time they see the court after Rust will be on January 2, 2013 at Lindenwood University.
