The Webster University men's tennis team advanced to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Confence semi-finals before falling to defending champions Westminster College, 5-0, at Sunset Tennis Club, on April 20. The Gorloks, who defeated Eureka College (IL), 5-0, in the opening round, tied a team record with their 13th win of the season.
The Gorloks will play for third place on April 21, at 11:30 a.m., at the Dwight Davis Center in Forest Park.
Against Westminster, Webster was swept in the three doubles matches and the match was called after the Gorloks lost the first two singles and the Blue Jays had clinched the contest.
In the Eureka match, the Gorloks swept through the three doubles matches and had won two singles when the match was declared over with Webster reaching the needed five wins for a match victory.
Webster is 13-4 on the year and has a chance to set a new season high for wins with a victory in the third place match.
