Box Score Webster University's men's basketball team used a 24-6 second-half run to glide by Dominican University (Ill.), 69-54, Sunday (Nov. 24) at Grant Gymnasium.

After the Gorloks took a 36-28 lead into halftime, Dominican scored to make it 36-30. But that's as close as the visitors would get. Webster held the Stars to six points during a 13-minute span and held a 24-point advantage, 60-36, with 5:22 remaining. The Gorloks weren't threatened the rest of the way.

Junior Ahmad Smith (St. Louis, MO / Clayton) scored a team-high 14 points and has scored in double figures in each of Webster's first three games this season.

Freshman Jonathan Odjo (West Palm Beach, FL / Suncoast) came off the bench to record 13 points in his 15 minutes of play. Odjo did not miss a shot, as he was 4 of 4 from the field and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line.

Sophomore Kevin Miller (Belleville, IL / Belleville East) notched 11 points for his third straight game in double figures. Miller also snatched a game-high eight rebounds.

Freshman Adam Etter (Albers, IL / Mater Dei) scored eight points and junior Hank Hawkins (St. Louis, MO / Vianney) had seven, as Webster's bench contributed 39 points (58.2 percent of the team's total).

The visitors jumped out to an early 6-2 advantage, but Webster went on a 17-8 spurt over the next eight minutes to grab a 19-10 edge. The Gorloks didn't relinquish the lead from there.

The Gorloks nabbed a season-best 17 steals, their most in a game since Nov. 28, 2012, when Webster compiled 18 steals against Blackburn. The Gorloks forced 23 Dominican turnovers, while Webster had more assists (12) than turnovers (11).

Webster improved to 2-1 with the win. The Gorloks have a quick turnaround, as they take on Elmhurst College (Ill.) Tuesday (Nov. 26). Tip time is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Grant Gymnasium.
