Men's Tennis Streak at Nine With Double Dip

With wins over Illinois College (9-0) and Fontbonne University (9-0), the Webster University men's tennis team extended its winning streak to nine straight matches.  The victories, on March 9 at the Webster Groves Tennis Center, broke the team's longest win streak, an eight-game stretch in 2010.

Against both Illinois College and Fontbonne, the Gorloks blew through both the double and singles without losing a set.  Ricky Eaves (SR, McCluer North HS, MO) remained undefeated at singles on the year, raising his record to 9-0 with wins in both matches.  Agustin Villalba (SR, American School, Ecuador) at 9-1, Josh Sellmeyer (SR, Mehlville HS) at 9-1, Travis Blair (FR, Jerseyville HS, IL) at 8-1, and Francissco Cortez (SR, Quincy HS, IL) at 7-1, all remain at just one loss in singles competition on the season.

All fourteen players on the Webster roster saw action on the day.  Both matches were non-conference tilts for the Gorloks.  Webster is 9-1 overall on the season.  The Gorloks will have a 10-day break until their next match, on March 19, vs. Concordia Seminary at the WGTC.
