Hoping to capture its first ever St. Louis Intercollegiate  Athletic Conference title, the men's tennis team fell in the championship match to Westminster College, 5-2, at King's Point TC in Belleville, IL, on April 27.  Webster had defeated Westminster earlier in the season but the Blue Jays, who have won 12 of the last 14 championships, won when the chips counted.

Webster fell into a 0-3 hole when it lost all three doubles matches.  The Gorloks lost two close bouts at 9-7.  Webster managed to win at #2 singles with Diego Alarcon (SR, American School, Ecuador) and Ricky Eaves (SR, McCluer North HS, MO) at #5, but with losses at #1 and #3, the match was called.  Unless the Gorloks receive an at-large bid to the NCAA III Championships, they will have finished an outstanding season with a 19-3 mark. 

The Gorloks set records for wins in a season (19) and for wins in a row in a season (13).  The senior-laden lineup re-wrote the Webster record books for season and career marks.

Eaves (18), Agustin Villalba (SR, American School, Ecuador-17), Alarcon (16), Travis Blair (FR, Jerseyville HS, IL-15), and Josh Sellmeyer (SR, Mehlville HS, MO-15) finish the season one through five at the top of the most singles wins in a season.

Alarcon (14) and Sellmeyer (13) finished first and tied for second in most doubles wins in a season.

Eaves (52), Alarcon (51), Villalba (40), and Sellmeyer (31) finish their careers numbers one through four in career singles victories.

And for doubles career victories, Eaves (42), Alarcon (38), Sellmeyer (35), and Villalba (25) finish at numbers one through four.
