Beavers Can't Stop Stream of Gorloks

Box Score Utilizing his full bench, Head Coach Jordan Olufson's Webster University women's basketball team wore down Blackburn College in a 79-62 win, on January 14, at Grant Gymnasium.  Twelve Gorloks saw action and nine got into the scoring column as Webster improved to 4-1 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Conference.

Kaliann Rikard (SR, Cuba, MO/Cuba hS) once again paced Webster, scoring a team-high 19 points and six assists, and pulled down five rebounds.  Courtney Pursley (SR, Lonedell, MO/St. Clair HS) had 12 points and six rebounds, and the Gorloks got a team-high seven rebounds from Brittany Harris-Conway (SO, St. James, MO/John F. Hodge HS).

Ashley Brooks (SO, Hermann, MO/Hermann HS) dropped in nine points and grabbed seven rebounds, including three offensive, coming off the bench.  Kaitlin Kendall (SO, O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon HS) had eight points including 2-3 from the three-point line.

Webster led 34-22 at the half and coasted throughout the contest despite the 22 points and 18 rebounds from Blackburn's Briana Rae.

The Gorloks are 7-5 on the season.  Webster hosts Principia College on January 16.  That game will make up for the snowed out contest on January 7.  The game with Principia originally scheduled at home on February 4, will now be played at Principia.

The Gorloks make their first SLIAC visit to Mt. Pleasant, IA, to take on new member Iowa Wesleyan on January 18.
