Forward Courtney Pursley (SR, Lonedell, MO/St. Clair HS) led Webster with 13 points, on 5-8 shooting, and Mia Williams (SO, St. Louis, MO/Hazelwood West HS) scored 11, on 5-8 shooting as well. Williams shared the team-high of four assists with fellow guard Kaliann Rikard (SR, Cuba, MO/Cuba HS). Ten Gorloks found their way into the scoring column.Â
After taking an early 6-0 lead, the Gorloks advantage rose and plummeted like the Dow Jones en route to a 23-16 halftime score. A 22-14 edge on the boards, including eight by center Cassie Endicott (JR, Bethalto, IL/Civic Memorial HS), helped fuel the Webster lead. Endicott finished with a game-high 11 rebounds and had four blocks on the night.
A 32-7 streak to start the second half expanded the Gorlok lead to 32 and Webster rambled on to victory. Webster is 5-1 in the SLIAC with the win and 8-5 overall on the season.
The Gorloks make their first visit to Mt. Pleasant, IA, to take on new SLIAC member Iowa Wesleyan on January 18. Webster will be back home on January 23 to face SLIAC leader Spalding University at Grant.
