Box Score The Webster University women's basketball team lost at Westminster College, 59-56, on February 19 at Fulton, MO. The Gorloks led most of the way but faltered late to fall to the Blue Jays. Courtney Pursley (SR, Lonedell, MO/St. Clair HS) had 18 points and 14 rebounds in the loss.
The Gorloks took an eight-point lead early after a steal and a layup by Kaliann Rikard (SR, Cuba, MO/Cuba HS) put them up 14-6 with 10:30 on the clock in the first. They took a 35-25 lead into the locker room. Webster led by still led by eight, 46-38, with 10 minutes left but the Blue Jays began to chip away at the lead. The Gorloks margin had shrunk to 48-47 with 6:50 remaining.

Webster still led 55-53 with 1:10 left, but would score one free throw over the final minute as Westminster hit its free throws to seal the win. The Gorloks' shooting went cold in the second half as they converted only five of 23 field goal attempts.
Rikard had 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists on the night. Her season total of 107 assists now ranks second all-time for Webster and she is two assists behind the all-time record of 109 set by Toni Picerno in 2004.
Webster is 11-5 in the SLIAC and 14-9 overall on the season. The Gorloks are home on February 22 as they host Eureka College (IL) on Senior Day. Webster winds up the regular season on February 25 at Fontbonne University.
