The Webster University men's tennis team opened play in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 9-0 win over Fontbonne University, on March 26 at the Webster Groves Tennis Center. Freshman Juan Granizo (Quito, Ecuador/Collegio Alberto Einstein) improved to 5-1 on the season at #2 singles with a win in the match.
Freshman EricBateman (Maryland Heights, MO/Pattonville HS) won his first match as a Gorlok at the #6 singles. Freshman Chris Morris (St. Louis, MO/St. Mary's HS) won his first match for Webster at the #3 doubles, along with partner Daniel DeVasto (JR, St. Louis, MO/St. John Vianney HS).
In addition to going 1-0 in the SLIAC, the Gorloks evened their season record at 3-3. Webster was particularly dominanant in the match, losing only four games total in nine matches. The full results for the match were:
