Track Trio and Tennis' Lewis SLIAC Players of the Week

Three members of the Webster University track team and women's tennis player Marissa Lewis garnered St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week awards for performances the week of March 24-30.  Heather Heisse, David Lambus, and Lauren McClain all joined Lewis after outstanding performances at the Washington University Invitational track meet.

SLIAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marissa Lewis
Lewis, a junior from Owasso, OK(Owasso HS), went 4-0 on the week with all four wins coming against conference opponents. Lewis, playing at the #1 position in singles, picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win over Blackburn and  a 6-1, 6-1 win over Greenville. She added a pair of wins at #1 doubles with partner Kaylen Kress (SO, Bartlett, IL/Bartlett HS) in an 8-0 win over Blackburn and a 8-2 win over Greenville.

SLIAC MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK
(Track) David Lambus
Lambus, a sophomore from St. Louis, MO(University City HS), had a pair of top two finishes at the Washington University Invitational last weekend. Lambus finished second in a field of 104 runners in the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:56.11, marking the 8th best qualifying time in the NCAA III this season. He also won the 800 meter run in a field of 91 runners with a time of 1:55.13, the top performance in the conference this season.  Both marks set Webster University records.

SLIAC WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK
(Field) Lauren McClain
McClain, a freshman from St. Louis, MO(McCluer North HS), earned her second straight Player of the Week honor this week. McClain competed in the Washington University Invitational last week, finishing 11th in a field of 64 in the shot put with a distance of 11.20 meters.

SLIAC WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK
(Track) Heather Heisse
Heisse, a senior from Troy, MO(Buchanan HS), picked up POW honors after competing in the Washington University Invitational last weekend. Heisse wasted no time jumping into the action, racing in the 10,000 meter run early in the season. Heisse placed 19th at the event with a time of 41:04.35, handily breaking the Webster school record.
