The Webster University men's tennis team advanced to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament semi-finals, only to fall to #1 seed Principia College, 5-0, on April 18 at Westminster Academy in St. Louis.  The Gorloks won their opening round match vs. Fontbonne University, 5-0, to set up the Principia match.  Webster will now face Greenville College for third place.

The Gorloks only had to win three actual match ups on the court vs. Fontbonne, with the Griffins defaulting a doubles and singles point because they were a player short.  Once a team reaches the necessary five points to secure a win in the tournament, the match is ended.

Against the Panthers, it was a different experience for the Gorloks.  Principia was undefeated in the SLIAC in regular season play, and had defeated Webster, 9-0, six days earlier.  The Gorloks dropped all three doubles matches and after two defeats in singles, fell 5-0.

Webster will face Greenville at Westminster Academy on April 19.
