The Webster University men's tennis team escaped the torrential rains outside but not the Greenville College racquets as they fell, 8-1, on April 8 to the Panthers. The match, originally scheduled to be played at Greenville, was moved to Principia's indoor courts to avoid the storms besieging the area.
Greenville swept the doubles matches, 3-0, then went on to take five of six singles matches vs. the Gorloks. Webster's lone victor was Trent Purnell (JR, Marion, IL/Marion HS), who won at #5 singles in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.
Webster is 1-2 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and 4-5 overall. The Gorloks have a week off before hosting Westminster College on April 15 at the Webster Groves Tennis Center. The full results for the Greenville/Webster match:
