The Webster University men's tennis team lost a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match-up to Principia College, 9-0, on April 2 in Elsah, IL. The Panthers took a 3-0 lead in the doubles competition and swept through the singles.
Freshman Charles McGee (FR, Waterloo, IL/Waterloo HS) lost a hard-fought bout at #6 singles, losing the first set in a tie-breaker, winning the second, then losing in a tie-breaker third set. Trent Purnell (SR, Marion, IL/Marion HS) and Matt Lang (SR, St. Louis, MO/Lindbergh HS) had a battle at #2 doubles as well, losing in the tie-breaker.
Webster falls to 1-2 in the SLIAC and 5-3 overall.
The Gorloks will host Greenville College (IL) on April 5 at the Webster Groves Tennis Center.
