The Webster University women's tennis team lost at Maryville University, 9-0, on September 24.  After their successful showing at Fontbonne, with a 9-0 win, the Gorloks were looking forward to this match, but they came up short.  Maryville is an NCAA II athletic scholarship program.

This was the last fall match for the Gorloks, who played hard, and it will help motivate them in the off-season, till the spring schedule kicks off at McKendree University, another NCAA II program, on March 3, 2017.

"Everyone had a lot of good points against a really tough team," said Jesse Steffens-Willis (JR., St.Louis, MO / Rockwood Summit). "I'm excited to work hard in the spring with all of our players back from abroad."

Stephanie Lass (JR., Lake Villa, IL / Lakes Community), Madison Watts (SO., Rogersville, MO / Logan Rogersville), and Sara Rice (SO., Mahomet, IL / Mahomet-Seymour) are currently studying abroad in Europe.  All three are returning players and will be rejoining the team in the spring semester.  In the meantime, the Gorloks will be training hard to improve their strength and endurance for the exciting and promising season to come.
