The Webster University men's tennis team lost a tough one as Illinois College slipped by for a 5-4 win, on April 11 at the Webster Groves Tennis Center. The Gorloks looked like they may make a comeback after trailing in doubles play, but couldn't get over the hump.
The Blue Boys took a 2-1 lead in doubles, and the Gorloks won three of the first four singles to pull ahead, 4-3. But Webster couldn't get the final singles win to clinch the match, with the deciding point coming at #4 where the Gorloks dropped a hard-fought match up, 7-5, 6-4.
Webster is now 1-3 on the season. The Gorloks come right back on April 12 to host Westminster College in a SLIAC match up at the Webster Groves Tennis Center. Webster will travel to Illinois College, in Jacksonville, IL, on April 14 for a rematch.
