The Webster University men's tennis team defeated Fontbonne University, 8-1, on April 18 at the Webster Groves Tennis Center.   The Gorloks swept the doubles matches and coasted in singles, taking five of six.

Ray Robson (SR, Clearwater, FL/Home School), Charles McGee (SO, Waterloo, IL/Waterloo), Nicolas Andrade (FR, Quito, Ecuador/Francis Howell), and Eric Bateman (SR, Maryland Heights, MO/Pattonville) all won in straight sets at #s3-6 singles.  Trent Purnell (GR, Marion, IL/Marion) won at #2 singles in a tie-breaker.

Bateman is now 6-1 on the season in singles play with his win at #6.

Webster is 1-2 in the SLIAC and 3-4 overall.  Fontbonne is 0-4 and 1-13.  It was a non-conference tilt, with the Gorloks already defeating the Griffins in their conference match up.

The Gorloks play the St. Louis College of Pharmacy on April 21 at Tower Grove Park in St. Louis, then host Concordia Seminary in an exhibition match on April 22 at the Webster Groves Tennis Center.
