The Webster University men's tennis team won its first round match, 5-2 over Fontbonne University, then lost to Principia College, 6-0, in the SLIAC Tournament, on April 28 at King's Point in Belleville, IL.  The Gorloks will now play Westminster College for third place on April 29, back at King's Point.

Webster won four of six singles against Fontbonne, and clinched the match with a doubles win at #2.  Ray Robson (SR, Clearwater, FL/Home School), Charles McGhee (SO, Waterloo, IL/Waterloo), Nico Andrade (FR, Quito, Ecuador/Francis Howell), and Eric Bateman (SR, Maryland Heights, MO/Pattonville), all won in straight sets at #s 3-6.  When Robson and McGhee won, 8-6, at #2 doubles, the match ended with Webster up 5-2.

Unfortunately, the Gorloks were swept in the Principia match.  After the Panthers took all three doubles, the match ended after they had won three singles.  Principia advances to the championship match vs. Greenville College on April 29.  Webster is 4-6 overall on the season.
