Postponed Basketball Home Games With Principia Have Been Rescheduled

WEBSTER GROVES - Webster University Athletics announced on Monday afternoon that its home basketball games with Principia College that were postponed this past Saturday have been rescheduled and the games will be played as single games at Grant Gymnasium as opposed to a doubleheader like it was originally scheduled.

The Principia games were originally scheduled for this past Saturday, Jan. 12 as the women were going to play at 1 p.m., with the men's game to follow at 3 p.m., but the games were postponed due to a winter storm that dumped nearly a foot of snow in St. Louis area last weekend.

So now with Monday's announcement, the Gorlok women will play host to the Principia women on Monday, Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m., and the Gorlok men will now host the Principia men on Monday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m.

With that change in the schedule, the Webster women will now play four games in a span of eight days beginning with this coming Saturday's home game with Fontbonne and following the Principia game next Monday, Webster will host Iowa Wesleyan on Wednesday, Jan. 23 and then conclude the four game stretch on Saturday, Jan. 26 with a game at MacMurray College. While the men will play three games in a span of eight days as they host Fontbonne and Iowa Wesleyan on Jan. 19 and Jan. 23 respectively and then travel to MacMurray on Jan. 26.

Both of Webster's basketball teams will next be in action on Wednesday, Jan. 16 as they travel to Greenville, Ill., for a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at Greenville University, who is sitting in first place in both the men's and women's league standings. The women will open things up on Wednesday with a 5:30 p.m. game against the Panthers, with the men's game scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start.
