GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Webster University men's track and field team was back in action over the past two days when they traveled to Greenville, Illinois, to compete in the SLIAC Outdoor Championships at Greenville (Ill.) University. The Gorloks took second in the meet after finishing with a team score of 88 points. Greenville won the meet after finishing with a team score of 345 points.

Elijah Perez led the way for the Gorloks as he was a part of 34 of the teams 88 points. He took second place in the 800-meter with a time of 21.64 and second place in the 400-meter with a time of 49.97 to capture 16 points for Webster. He also finished fourth in the 100-meter to add four points. In addition, he was a member of the 4x400 meter and 4x100 meter relay teams that took third (3:37.83) and second (46.63), respectively. The 4x100 meter relay team consisted of Steven Aubuchon, Jadis Smith, and Armond Williams while the 4x400 meter relay team consisted of Javier Cervantes, Joshua Clark, and Kaelin Triggs. For his efforts, Perez was named the SLIAC Men's Track Athlete of the Year.

The Gorloks had two individuals win their events at the SLIAC Outdoor Championships. Kaelin Triggs won the 800-meter after finishing with a time of 1:56.17 to capture 10 points for the team. Armond Williams won the 110-meter hurdles after finishing with a time of 16.50 to also add 10 points for the Gorloks.

Following the conclusion of the meet, the Gorloks were recognized with the All-Sportsmanship Award. This is the second time in program history the team has won the award.

The Gorloks will return to the track on Thursday, May 12^th when they travel to Naperville, Illinois, to compete in the Carius/Gregory Invitational at North Central (Ill.) College.
