TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced the Division III Men's and Women's ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams for the 2021-22 school year. For their efforts in the classroom, both the Webster University men's and women's tennis teams were recognized as All-Academic Teams.

To be named an All-Academic Team, teams must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. In 2022, 125 men's programs and 125 women's programs were recognized with the award. The women's team finished with a team grade point average of 3.79 while the men finished with a grade point average of 3.37

"Both the men's and women's tennis teams did amazing jobs in the classroom this past year." Said Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach, John Black. "Their hard work has shown with these awards. This year the women had all nine players above a 3.3 GPA and eight of them were above a 3.5. The men had six players above a 3.0 GPA. Combined between the teams, eight tennis student-athletes had a GPA of 3.9 or higher. All of these outstanding students make my job as coach so much easier."

This marks the ninth straight time that the women's program has earned the All-Academic Team Award and the 11th time since the 2009-10 season. This is the men's teams fourth straight selection as an All-Academic Team and the seventh overall selection since the 2009-10 academic year.

In addition, both programs had individuals named ITA Scholar-Athletes. In order to be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above.

The women's program had eight individuals on the list including Navone Armstrong, Erin Brezovar, Emily Casey, Kylie Chitwood, Chloe Daughtry, Emma Ferguson, Bailey Higgins, and Katarina Serbentas. This marks the fourth straight year that Emma Ferguson has won the award and the third straight honor for Erin Brezovar, Emily Casey, and Katarina Serbentas. This marks the second selection for both Navone Armstrong and Bailey Higgins.

The men's program had four individuals on the list including Chase Boushard, Carson Fisher, Tanner Haugen, and Riley Muren. This is the fourth straight selection for Tanner Haugen and the third straight for Riley Muren.
