ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University men's tennis team was back in action this afternoon when they played host to the Mississippi University for Women Owls. The Gorloks defeated the Owls by a final score of 9-0 to end their fall season with a 2-3 overall record. With the loss, the Owls drop to 0-2 on the year.
The Gorloks came out in doubles and were able to sweep all three points.
Ethan Foucheaux and
Matthew Birchmeier won #1 doubles over Lucas Suggs and Jaylen Lewis by a final score of 8-1.
Carson Fisher and Tyler Gonzalez won #2 doubles as they defeated Sam Yarborough and Adrian Barber by a final score of 8-0.
Robert McDaniel and
Jackson Smock won #3 doubles as they defeated Weston Petty and Tyler Bailey by a final score of 8-1.
Webster carried over their momentum into the singles portion of the match and were able to take all six points.
Matthew Birchmeier won #1 singles over Lucas Suggs by final scores of 6-0 and 6-3.
Ethan Foucheaux took #2 singles over Jaylen Lewis by final scores of 6-0 and 6-0.
Carson Fisher won #3 singles over Sam Yarborough by final scores of 6-0 and 6-3.
Jackson Smock defeated Adrian Barber in #4 singles by final scores of 6-0 and 6-1.

The Gorloks will return to the court in the spring.
