Women’s Cross Country End Season At NCAA Midwest Regional Championships

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Webster University women's cross country team concluded the 2024 season by participating in the 2024 NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday at Saukie Golf Course. All four Gorloks achieved their second fastest career 6k race with their respective finishing times at this meet.

The Gorloks were led by first-years Madison Cox and Brie Inman in the season finale. Cox, a Wentzville, Missouri native, paced Webster with a time of 28:44.7 while Inman recorded a finishing time of 29:48.7.

The next Gorlok that crossed the finish line was Abigail Szydlowski as she recorded a time of 31:47.0 in her final cross country meet of her career. WU's Emily Horowitz rounded the field of competitors for the Gorloks with a time of 35:28.6.

"I'm proud of the girl's effort throughout the season. They worked hard today on a cold, windy day. I'm excited to keep working with this group as we head into track season. Abby will be graduating this December and we will greatly miss her on the team. She has improved her PR's a ton this season and has been a fantastic leader on the team. We wish her the absolute best in the future" said Head Coach Kyle Robinson.

The women's track and field team will open the 2024-25 indoor track season with a visit to Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday, December 7 to participate in the Titan First Chance meet in Bloomington, Illinois.
