MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference has announced the 2024 Women's Tennis South Division Preseason poll. The Gorloks were picked to finish third in the south after receiving six points in the poll and one first place vote.

The Gorloks went 5-0 in their fall season and will look to carry their success over into the spring. They outscored their opponents by a count of 37-8 including a sweep over the Mississippi University for Women Owls in their final match of the fall.

Bailee Pineda, Journee White, and Evie Schuetz will look to continue their hot streak as all three went undefeated in singles in the spring. Pineda went a perfect 4-0 in the fall with all four matches coming in #5 singles. White also went 4-0 in the fall as she won all four of her matches in #1 singles. Lastly, Schuetz went 3-0 in singles as she won her only match in #4 singles while winning both of her matches in #6 singles.

The Gorloks will also look to carry over their success in doubles as they had two pairs go 4-0 in the fall. Journee White and Kylie Chitwood held down the #1 doubles spot as they won all four of their matches while outscoring opponents 32-11. Bailey Higgins and Maddie Mena also went undefeated in the #2 doubles spot while outscoring opponents 32-12.

Greenville (Ill.) University was picked to win the south division after receiving eight points in the poll and two first place votes. Principia (Ill.) College was picked to finish second in the south after receiving seven points in the poll and one first place votes.

The Gorloks will kick off their spring season on Wednesday, February 28^th when they host Shawnee State (Ohio) University at Forest Lake Tennis Club. The match is set to start at 10 a.m.
