GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Webster University men's track and field team was back in action yesterday when they traveled to Greenville, Illinois, to compete in the SLIAC Outdoor Championships. The Gorloks finished in second place in the meet after recording a team score of 83.
Kaelin Triggs,
Ethan Nieroda,
Mark Govero, and the 4x100 meter relay team consisting of
Steven Aubuchon,
Austin Merritt,
Joshua Clark, and
Dylan Patterson all recorded second place finishes in their respective events. Triggs took second place in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.80. Neiroda took second place in the 5K with a time of 16:11.44. Govero took second place in the pole vault with a height of 4.35 meters. Lastly, the 4x100 meter relay team took second place with a time of 43.05 seconds. Each of the second place finishes earned the Gorloks eight points and all-conference honors.
Sam Baker and
Kaiden Klein also earned all-conference honors as they recorded third place finishes in their respective events. Baker took third place in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal record time of 58.42 seconds. Klein took second place in the javelin throw with a distance of 44.09 meters. The two third place finishes earned Webster six points each.
Mason Oldani and
Austin Merritt recorded fourth place finishes in their respective events. Oldani took fourth place in the high jump with a personal record height of 1.78 meters to score five points. He also set a new personal record in the 400-meter run with a time of 54.02 seconds. Merritt finished fourth in the 200-meter with a time of 22.51 seconds and then went on to finish fourth in the pole vault with a personal record height of 3.30 meters.
In addition,
Kenneth Louvierre set a new personal record in the 3K steeplechase with a time of 11:42.44,
Steven Aubuchon set a new personal record in the 100-meter race with a time of 10.88 seconds, and
Johnny Imboden set a new personal record in the 5K with a time of 16:11.44.

Greenville (Ill.) won the event as they finished with a team score of 333. Principia (Ill.) College took third with a team score of 82 while Principia took fourth with a team score of 81.
The Gorloks will return to the track on Saturday, May 4
th when they travel to Monmouth, Illinois, to compete in the Fighting Scots Outdoor Invitational. The meet will take place at Monmouth (Ill.) College.
